Why a Cat Enclosure?

Cats love to play outdoors where they feel safe, can wander, play in the garden, and lay in the sun. Cats live longer, happier, healthier lives if allowed indoors and outdoors but in the safety of an enclosed space. Allow your fur baby outside to sniff the fresh air, play in the garden, climb up high on some wall platforms to look out over the neighbourhood, or lounge in a lovely big cat hammock in the sun.

  • Minimize the Risk of Cat Theft.

An unfortunate reality of the times is that more and more cats are being kidnapped for profit or to avoid the purchase costs.

  • Help Protect Local Wildlife.

Cat owners know that most cats love to hunt. This has a devastating impact on local wildlife. An enclosure will significantly help to prevent this.

  • Being a responsible cat owner (and the Law).

Councils are ruling against cats roaming the neighbourhood. This is to keep cats safe from the dangers of the roads, to stop cats roaming into other people’s yards, as well as to prevent cats killing native birds and wildlife.

  • Save Money

Save on vet bills and fees to retrieve your cat from the animal shelter, by keeping your cat indoors or in a secure outdoor cat enclosure.

Suitable Areas.

We create permanent custom-made netted cat enclosures to suit the home, the family and the cat.

We can transform your:

  • side walkway

  • courtyard

  • pergola

  • verandah

  • whole backyard

  • balcony (Note: some balconies cannot be enclosed due to the materials used in their construction, or where there are safety issues - height, fall risks, etc)

  • lawn area

  • vegetable or fruit garden

into a wonderful area to keep your cat safe inside your yard and keep birds and native wildlife safe from your cat.

Our Enclosure Styles

  • Frameless enclosures - where existing structures (buildings and fences) support the netting

  • Framed enclosures - where solid timber posts are concreted into the ground to support the netting

  • Angled Fence Extension Brackets - installed around the perimeter of your yard to help prevent your cat leaving your yard

  • Straight Fence Extension Posts - installed to the fences to give height to roof netting on the fence side

How it Works.

  • Quality Materials and Workmanship.

We use strong black nylon CatNets netting (which is heat sealed at every knot and UV-stabilised for long life), plus high quality stainless steel fixtures and fittings.

Our enclosures are not only beautiful to the eye but are built to last.

  • Securing the Net.

To secure the netting to the house and fence we attach it to stainless steel wire rope using a compressor and a pneumatic gun, clipping hundreds of stainless steel c-clips around all edges of the net. This holds the netting securely and closely to the wire cable and gives a very professional look to the enclosure. Make sure your installer uses this method.

Gates.

  • L-Shape Chunky Zipper Gates

  • Custom-made Hard Gates

Accessories.

As part of your Pet Nets enclosure installation, we can add:

  • Wall Platforms (Powder-coated black steel, marine-grade carpet lined)

    • Square ‘Seat’ 30cm x 30cm or

    • Rectangular ‘Ramp’ 50cm x 16cm

  • Cat Hammocks (black vinyl mesh)

    • Large (90cm x 90cm x 60cm) triangle

    • Small (60cm x 60cm x 60cm) triangle

They make the area fun and interesting for your cat. Cats love sitting up high on walls where they can look out over the world and love lazing in the large triangular hammocks.

(Accessories are not available separately.)

What if you rent?

If you rent your home, you will need the landlord’s or body corporate’s permission to have small holes drilled every 50cm into the walls of the building, fascia board, fences and paving/floor. These holes can be filled in with matching coloured pop-rivets, mortar or wood putty if the netting is required to be removed when you vacate the property, or it can remain in place for the next tenant.

The netting is attractive to the eye and an asset to the property. Direct your landlord to our website and facebook page so they can see the quality of our work and how our enclosures would look at your home (their property).

Warranty.

We provide a 12 month warranty on all our work.
